Dr. Seetharam obtained his Bachelors degree in Chemistry and Physics, and his
Master's and Doctoral degree in Biochemistry from Bangalore University, India.
After two years of postdoctoral work at the University of New Mexico and 14
years on faculty of Washington University in St. Louis, he moved to Medical
College of Wisconsin in 1988 as Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology) and
Biochemistry. His research work in the past 20 years has focused on the
molecular and cell biology of Vitamin B12 binding proteins and their cell surface
receptors in normal and Vitamin B12 deficiency state.
