People - Faculty, Staff and Students
Faculty
The Department of Biochemistry is presently comprised of 11
independent, tenure track
faculty members. Four additional faculty
members hold secondary appointments in the
Department and participate
fully in the Department's graduate programs. The research
interests of
these 16 scientists range from fundamental studies of structural biology
(X-ray crystallography, protein ligand interactions, DNA folding) to
enzymology
(kinetic analysis, elucidation of enzyme mechanisms and
mechanisms of inhibition) to
molecular biology and molecular genetics
(translational control in eukaryotes, hormonal
regulation of cell
division, tumor cell markers). This diverse array of research
programs,
many having important clinical correlates, provides an excellent
environment
for training of graduate students and post-doctoral
fellows.
The Faculty pages contain a short
biography of each
faculty member along with a page describing their
current research interests and
references to selected publications.
