“The interdisciplinary program allowed me to explore diverse opportunities for research not only in more than one lab, but in more than one department! I was amazed to discover the wide range of research projects available to students here at MCW.”

"The Biochemistry Department is composed of faculty with many different interests, allowing the students to be exposed to many different types of biochemical research. In addition, collaboration among laboratories is extensive, even across departments, and this provides students with many resources similar to a large institution without all the hassle. The academic environment in the MCW graduate school is, while challenging, quite nurturing and stimulating and not hostile or highly competitive as you might come across in a larger research graduate institution."

"It is my pleasure to encourage you to apply for the interdisciplinary program (IDP) here at MCW. By entering the IDP, you will have the opportunity to do four rotations among several departments like Biochemistry; Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy; Microbiology and Molecular Genetics; Pathology; or Pharmacology and Toxicology which will expose you to various scientific ideas and technologies before you make a final decision to pursue you own specific goal. The academic environments here are collaborative and helpful whenever you encounter any questions and problem. You have to be here to know that it is really a great place to develop your scientific career!"

"The interdisciplinary program at MCW provides incoming students an opportunity to find their niche in a research community with broad interests. The MCW Biochemistry Department complements the interdisciplinary program by providing students exposure to a range of biochemical topics and techniques."
